State Advisory Council Meeting
July 28 @ 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm
Building Bright Futures State Advisory Council meetings serve as a critical convening of public and private partners working to improve the well-being of children and families in Vermont by using evidence to inform policy and decision-making, discussing critical challenges, and problem-solving. State Advisory Council (SAC) meetings are open to the public.
At our July 28 meeting, we will:
- Provide a forum for SAC members and members of the public to share current needs and challenges impacting children and families
- Build alignment and collaboration across Regional Councils, State Advisory Council, and Vermont’s Early Childhood Action Plan committees
SAC members and members of the public will hear brief issue updates followed by an opportunity to share current needs and challenges impacting children and families and opportunities for action, followed by discussion.
For consideration:
- What is one thing you see working for children and families that you are advocating to sustain?
- How have you or your organization been impacted by recent state or federal policy change?
- What impacts on children and families and/or the early childhood system do you anticipate due to the Budget Reconciliation bill passed by Congress on July 4, 2025?
- What are ways to proactively mitigate the anticipated negative impacts, or buoy positive impacts?
Those members of the public interested in sharing will have up to two minutes to provide comments or anecdotes based on their work with Vermont families or in the early childhood system. Information shared will help inform BBF’s role as advisors to improve the well-being of children and families. It will also help inform the update to Vermont’s early childhood strategic plan.
