State Advisory Council – Strategic Plan Summit
May 27 @ 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Building Bright Futures State Advisory Council meetings serve as a critical convening of public and private partners working to improve the well-being of children and families in Vermont by using evidence to inform policy and decision-making, discussing critical challenges, and problem-solving. State Advisory Council (SAC) meetings are open to the public.
Annually, we use the May SAC meeting to ensure that the early childhood strategic plan is held front and center in our work. This year we will:
- Rededicate our commitment to the vision and priorities set forth in Vermont’s Early Childhood Action Plan (formerly known as the VECAP 2020 -2025)
- Celebrate what we learned from the Network engagement process conducted over the past four months to inform strategic plan priorities
- Gather feedback on strategies in the first draft of the strategic plan update:
- Goal 1: All Children and Families Have Their Basic Needs Met
- Goal 2: All Children are Raised in Safe & Healthy Environments
- Goal 3: Children and Families Have Access to High Quality Opportunities That Promote Child Development and Well-Being
- Goal 4: Build a Thriving, Respected, and Sustainable Early Childhood Workforce
- Goal 5: Our System Centers Children and Families and is Coordinated, Well-Resourced, Data-Driven
- Preview the timeline and process for writing and then gathering feedback on the drafts throughout the summer
- Build alignment and collaboration across the BBF Network
