Join Us in Nov. to Talk About Housing in Vermont

In November, our 12 Regional Council meetings and our Families and Communities Committee meeting will all have the same focus: housing issues that affect Vermont families.

Our discussions will not focus on homelessness—which remains a critical issue in Vermont—but on families who are precariously housed due to issues such as:

  • Unstable or poor-quality housing (no running water, mold, inadequate heat, overcrowding etc.)
  • Risk of eviction
  • Frequent moves
  • Increasing housing costs (rent, utilities, water/sewer rates, taxes)

Do you have personal and/or professional experience with housing challenges in Vermont? Can you invite others with lived experience of these issues to the meeting?

At each of the meetings, we will work to:

  • Understand the existing landscape facing children and families who are precariously housed
  • Understand the long-term effects these conditions may have on children
  • Build connections across early childhood and housing partners to reduce the number of  families who are precariously housed
  • Gather data on experiences to inform our advisement to Vermont’s Governor and Legislature, including barriers and areas of progress

Please join us at any of the following virtual meetings for this important conversation:
