Data & Evaluation: Policy Recommendations

The 2026 Policy Recommendation process is underway. Starting this month the BBF team begins developing policy recommendations with input from families, early childhood professionals, and partners from across the network. The recommendations aim to highlight the most pressing gaps and needs in early childhood policy, promote achievable and measurable action in strategic areas for the coming year, and move toward the vision outlined in Vermont’s strategic plan for early childhood. A number of VECAP committees, along with D&E, will be holding conversations to help us develop formal recommendations to bring back to the State Advisory Council in October and November. For 8/14, we will be doing a short review of the 2025 recommendations endorsed by the SAC, followed by a discussion to identify D&E policy priorities for 2026.
