Our committee is entirely virtual and open for parents and providers to join anytime. You can call in via your computer or phone\, from anywhere! All you need to do is show up with all of the knowledge and experience that you hold. \n\n\n\nWe value your time. Those who join as parents\, primary caregivers\, or guardians are eligible to be paid for their time attending and preparing for the committee at a rate of $18/hour. Child care stipends also may be available. To learn more\, email families@buildingbrightfutures.org.

Promote strategies that build a child’s social-emotional development; support a caregiver’s emotional regulation; respond to the mental health workforce crisis; improve access to consultation and crisis services; and prevent the use of exclusionary discipline. \n\n\n\n2. Substance use and the impact on family and child health: Support families impacted by substance use disorder by building stronger connections between the early childhood and adult treatment systems so providers can support a child and family’s needs.

SUMMARY:Goal 4 Committee Meeting (Early Childhood Workforce)
DESCRIPTION:The focus of this committee is to monitor Vermont’s Early Childhood Strategic Plan Goal 4: All children are supported by a Well-Prepared\, Well-Supported Early Childhood Workforce. Goal 4 meetings are composed of public and private partners who convene roughly two times a year to: \n\n\n\n\nMonitor how the state is doing toward the priorities outlined in Goal 4\n\n\n\nIdentify barriers to progress including policy or funding gaps; and\n\n\n\nBuild connections across public and private partners to build a more integrated system.\n\n\n\n\nThe October meeting will feature a presentation of the 2026 Women\, Work and Wages Report by Cary Brown\, Executive Director of the Vermont Commission on Women.

The Early Learning and Development Committee brings together public and private partners—including early care and learning program leaders\, school administrators\, philanthropy partners\, advocates\, and state agency representatives—who meet regularly to review progress\, identify challenges\, and support coordinated system improvement for children and families.
