Breastfeeding Duration and Exclusivity

Breastfeeding helps prevent obesity and diabetes in children, and puts mothers at lower risk for breast and ovarian cancer, diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease. Please note, the data are grouped by the year of birth, not the year of data collection.

The chart below shows breastfeeding initiation, exclusivity at 6 months, and sustained breastfeeding through 12 months for Vermont.
