Welcome to Building Bright Futures

Building Bright Futures relies upon parents, early childhood professionals, and community members to assure that all Vermont children are healthy and successful.

Providing children with a sound start now will give them the skills they need to contribute to our communities later. Research confirms experiences in the early years leave lasting impressions on the architecture of the brain – for better or for worse. We invest in Vermont’s future when we provide all children with a sound start.

Building Bright Futures is proud to co-sponsor the 16th annual Early Childhood Day at the Legislature with the Kids are Priority One Coalition.  The event will take place on Wednesday March 17, 2010 at the Capitol Plaza Hotel and Vermont State House in Montpelier.

Join hundreds of early childhood professionals, child care providers, parents, employers, and legislators in advancing policy priorities to benefit Vermont's children and their families.

The 2010 event will focus on early childhood systems as Vermont continues to establish Building Bright Futures as the statewide coordinating entity for early care, health, and education services.

The keynote speaker will be Karen Ponder,  past President of the North Carolina Partnership for Children, and leader in developing early childhood initiatives using her expertise in community and policy development and grassroots advocacy.
