The Brattleboro Memorial Hospital Birthing Center offers many prenatal and postpartum classes for new families including: Lamaze Classes, Healthy Babies Programs and the New Moms Network. The Brattleboro Walk In Clinic is a non-profit organization that provides primary medical and dental treatment to persons regardless of their ability to pay and serve as a referral resource for the community and other service organizations. Early Education Services provides: Head Start, Welcome Baby visits for families with new babies or who have newly adopted a child, Teddy Bear Teas for preschoolers and their families at all area kindergartens, Parent Child Center services including playgroups, Dads' groups, kinship groups, early childhood mental health services and services to early childhood professionals. Family Infant Toddler

Family, Infant and Toddler Project of Vermont, Winston L. Prouty Center for Child Development, Inc. The Family Infant Toddler Program supports infants and toddlers (birth to three years of age) with a measurable developmental delay or medical condition that may lead to a developmental delay. The purpose of the program is to provide guidance to families as they support their child's development. Infant/Child Guidance Project (ICG), Early Education Services. ICG consultants are available to assess and evaluate infants, toddlers and children who may have behavioral, social and/or emotional issues. They provide help to families with young children and to early childhood professionals. ICG staff will visit home or center-based child care programs to help create an environment that promotes well-being and to support the staff in meeting the needs of a child with challenging behaviors. STARS rewards child care, preschool and afterschool programs when they make their programs better. Any program that is participating in STARS has gone above and beyond what the state requires of them. The more stars a program has, the more successful it has been, but even one star shows you that a program has made the extra effort to offer your child a better experience. Eligibility screening for programs such as food stamps, Reach Up (formerly known as ANFC) and Medicaid programs. EPSDT, the Early Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment Program for Dr. Dynasaur-eligible children. Healthy Babies, Kids & Families - Health care and support services through pregnancy and delivery and for infants and children from birth to 5 years. Breastfeeding Information & Mother to Mother Support: We have public health nurses and a nutritionist who are available to provide information about infant feeding, to help you get off to a good start and to answer questions if you are breastfeeding. We also have breast pumps available for WIC participants. Ladies First - Offers free mammograms and Pap tests for income-eligible Vermont women age 40 and older without Medicaid, VHAP or Medicare Part B, and age 18 to 39 with breast symptoms or an abnormal Pap test. For women 40 and older, screenings for cholesterol, diabetes, blood pressure and more are available at selected sites. The Potassium Iodide Distribution Program for those who live and work in the six towns around the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station. WIC, the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children.
