In Bennington, the Committees of the Building Bright Futures Council implement the work of the Regional Plan to reach the stated outcomes. Each committee is responsible to report progress and challenges to the Council for discussionsupport. All work of the Council and its committees relates to the Bennington Regional Plan for Early Childhood.
Steering Committee: The steering committee's goal is to support the regional director and the BBF council in achieving the goals of our regional plan. The steering committee has the additional responsibility of outreach to other community sectors. It meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month.
Quality Task Force: The Quality Task Force develops local professional development opportunities for early childhood professionals. The QTF endeavors to develop a series of workshops addressing the same theme and to have tracks of learning. This year the QTF in collaboration with its partners is sponsoring a year long series on the powers of observation.
Children's Integrated Services: The local administrative team that is lead by BBF Regional Director. The goal of this team is to facilitate the local integration of Healthy Babies Kids and Families, CUPS and FIT.
Teen Pregnancy Task Force: The goal of this committee is to reduce the incidence of young teen pregnancy and new families at risk. This committee currently is working with the John Snow Institute as part of a CDC project.
Autism Task Force: Parents, schools and other partner are working together to a build a community system to address the complex needs for children with autism and their families.
Short Term Committees: These committees meet on an as need basis: Transportation, Legislative Outreach, and Advocacy.
